[Maine-birds] Ruby-throated Hummingbirds 04 Sept Roque Bluffs

Would someone be kind enough to take a look at the photo and see if this is a juvenile or a female, or what?
We have been away for a couple of weeks, so there is no way for us to tell if one of the two hummers who are here today is the female we have hosted for several years. There has never been a mate, or even a friend, for her and that has always made me sad. But his year another female showed up and seems to have stayed, and once (!) we caught sight of a male (!!) at the feeder. So. I would like to know if one of those females produced a young hummingbird.  I don't know how to tell if this one in the close-up photo is young or just in transition to non-breeding plumage. Thank you.
