[Maine-birds] YELLOW-THROATED WARBLER, American Coot, White-rumped Sandpipers, etc, Sabattus Pond, 11/12

Hi all,
Our Birds on Tap - Roadtrip! "Fall Ducks and Draughts"  tour with our partners, The Maine Bus, visit Sabattus Pond in Sabattus today.

A most unexpected highlight today was a YELLOW-THROATED WARBLER in the trees at Martin's Point Park. It's the white-lored subspecies from the interior of the continent.

It was feeding around the tall white pines in the park, associating with a roving band of Black-capped Chickadees, Tufted Titmice, and Golden-crowned Kinglets. A screen-captured photo on a bumpy bus ride from Marion Sprague has been posted on our store's Facebook page, but we/she'll post better photos later. Those seeking the bird should also check the adjacent neighborhood, which has quite a few feeders, if it's not in the park.

Other highlights, of the more expected variety, included 1 AMERICAN COOT, 10 truant WHITE-RUMPED SANDPIPERS with about 20 Dunlin, all of which were at the south end beach. A total of 13 species of waterfowl were tallied.
