[Maine-birds] Re: pelican brief: no

I must have missed the original sighting of the pelican.  That's very interesting.  Last year, a couple of days after Hurricane Irene, we were in Rhode Island and a pelican flew by
us and landed in the water in front of us.  The gulls and cormorants were very interested in this large fella.  Then as we walked out on a breakwater, he flew by us again.  They
can really be displaced during a hurricane.

I circled Sebasticook Lake this afternoon but did not locate the pelican. I did locate other birders. As of 3pm, they had also not yet relocated the pelican.

 

Big migration day: I saw several large flocks of non-geese waterfowl passing over.
