Re: [Maine-birds] More Pine Grosbeaks (Falmouth and Portland)

Hello Noah,

I am just back today from another incredible learning experience leading a birding field trip in CUBA.
Below is my sighting from this morning of my first birds since retuning very early this morning. I was happy to also see Pine Grosbeak sooo.... it looks like the Finch invasion is continuing.  I plan to photograph these birds later today and feel very luck to have had them as my first birds post trip.

Hope all is well and thank you for your heads up on Pine Grosbeak!!

Comments: Pine Grosbeak were the first bird I found after returning from my Cuba birding trip very early this morning. At least 7 birds were foraging in the trees next to the internet cafe in Bar Harbor. There is an enormous amount of crab apples for them to eat and I suspect that they will be there for many days to come.
3 species

Rock Pigeon (Columba livia) 25
European Starling (Sturnus vulgaris) 10
Pine Grosbeak (Pinicola enucleator) 7 Foraging on crab apples next to the internet cafe on Cottage street.

Subject: [Maine-birds] More Pine Grosbeaks (Falmouth and Portland)

Just wanted to mention that after I saw my first ever Pine Grosbeaks near my workplace Friday, I have been seeing up to six everyday this week down the road from work and at work. Possibly the same birds, but also possibly different ones.

This morning I saw two more at Riverpoint in Falmouth, possibly the two that Casey reported yesterday at Hannaford.

Bird haahd,
