Another beautiful spring day demanded that I get out and do some birding, so I obliged. The Eastern Trail in Biddeford hosted a decent collection of migrants this morning, including my FOY Northern Waterthrush, FOY Northern Parula, FOY Black-and-white Warblers (4), 3 Blue-headed Vireos and the usual assortment of Pine, Palms and Yellow-rumped Warblers. I was surprised that my first waterthrush was a Northern and not Louisiana, but the unstreaked throat and thin yellowish supercilium were pretty clear, as was it's song. Six warbler species in a day isn't bad for April! The trickle of migrants has become... a slightly steadier trickle. But soon the floodgates will open!
