[Maine-birds] Laurel Hill Cemetery Saco

Laurel Hill Cemetery is on route 9 (Beach Street) less than a mile east of Route 1 in Saco - coming from the north on route 1 turn left at the Congregational Church.  This is a great spot for spring birding as many old cemeteries are, but birding there now, one has a hard time keeping one’s eyes off the ground in the area in the back by the river bank.  Thousands of daffodils of several varieties grace the bank and many of the grave sites in that area.    A place of beauty, worth a visit if you are in the area.    Spring has sprung!!!

Birding was fairly quite this morning but while strolling around the area our highlights were a pair of Red-bellied Woodpeckers, 1 Brown Creeper, and 2 White -breasted Nuthatches calling and chasing one another.
