[Maine-birds] Bittern? Juvenile Green Heron?

I'm here at Evergreen with Sally Leavitt, and we've been observing the bird at the end of the large pond for approximately 45 minutes.  We're suspecting that it may be a juvenile Green Heron, rather than an American Bittern.  There is a distinct 2 tone pattern to the head, greenish-gray above and reddish-brown below.  There is a short white submoustachial or malar stripe , and the lores are distinctly yellow.  The breast has bold longitudinal streaking, but it seems more narrow than a bittern's. In addition, the neck, and the bird in general, seem shorter than a bittern. Photo link to follow later today.
