Hi all,
My Saturday Morning Birdwalk group and I ventured further afield than usual this morning in order to visit the Wilson's Cove Trail. The parking lot for the preserve is on the west side of Rte 123, and is 0.6 miles south of Whistler's Way, where the grebe was first reported. It affords wonderful views of Middle Bay, and you can see as far north as Simpson's Point - but is much closer to more of the open bay. Unfortunately, duck hunter activity eliminated waterbird activity close to the cove, but we spent a while scanning the bay in all directions, to no avail.

The Western Grebe was not seen this morning or yesterday afternoon despite searches reported to me. Besides Simpsons Point, one might try Wilson's Cove Trail part way down Harpswell Neck (http://hhltmaine.org/conserved-land/public-access/charles-norton-easement/) or Lookout Point (not seen there yesterday afternoon, though).--Louis BevierFairfield
