The subject goose, that Doug has been talking about, was in the company of 7 Canada Geese across the road from 212 Bayview Dr., Damariscotta, this morning from 10:40 to 11:00. (Bayview is at the northern end of Belvedere Rd.) The woman at that address is keenly interested, and perfectly OK with people pulling up in front of her house to look for it. I was able to give her a look through my 'nocs. Murky photos thru the thick fog.
BUT there's no assurance that the bird will be at this particular hayfield. There are mowed hayfields all around the perimeter of Salt Bay, and any of them might attract this small group of geese. Oyster Creek Preserve, where Belvedere Rd. crosses the creek, might also attract these birds. It's open (unfrozen) and there were ducks and geese there as well. And the marsh at the Damariscotta River Association also looks open, so worth a check.
