[Maine-birds] Belfast Bay Census of Monday, April 20, 2015

Gary and I did the last census for the season this morning.  The number of species using the bay and the Passagassawakeag River at some time during the season (September 1 to May 1) were 43.  Today there were 27 species found.  Highlights was the return of Osprey, and Double-crested Cormorants are again using the bay "monument" for nesting.  There were also a single adult Lesser Black-backed Gull, Gadwall, Green-winged Teal, American Widgeon, and an unknown Scaup species.  Numbers of Herring Gulls and Mallards were down substantially.

The full report can be found on ebird by using: http://ebird.org/ebird/view/checklist?subID=22970185.
