[Maine-birds] boreal birding recap

Seth Benz and I have some tours coming up, and the weather was great last Sunday, so I grabbed a day to scout my usual haunts west of Baxter State Park on Sunday. As I posted in early May, Black-backed Woodpeckers have taken over (and slightly widened) the nest hole of last year’s American Three-toed Woodpeckers on the Harvester Road. The 3-toeds are down the skidder trail a bit, and it’s a slog through wet tangles to find them, but fun.
