[Maine-birds] oops

Well, the martin on the new colony at Belgrade Public Library was the decoy. Oops! Obviously it's a good decoy for unsuspecting birders--but will it fool the martins? We'll see....

Otherwise on today's birdwalk we discovered the killdeer family has four babies, not three. Kids got to experience a cloud of martins at the martin colony and compare bank and tree swallows with martins. We also saw bluebirds, a catbird, and chipping sparrows. Alder flycatcher at the gravel pit, but no singing prairie warbler today.
