I birded Biddeford Pool and East Point Sanctuary today. It was very cold! Most of the ducks were far off shore and without a scope I couldn't determine much. There were 8 great cormorants on Beach Island. There was a thick billed murre at the end of 2nd street. As the tide started heading out the ducks started heading in. I saw several red breasted mergansers, a pair of harlequin ducks, white winged scoters, a few surf scoters, greater scaup, long tailed ducks, common goldeneye and common eiders. I waited as the rather large group of eiders came into shore and the immature King eider was among them! I appreciate having seen the pictures that others have posted as it made it easier to recognize. East Point was pretty desolate. The feeder to the left of the entry was very busy with all the usuals.
