[Maine-birds] Additional Highlights This Week and New Arrivals, 5/7-13

Hi all,

With high pressure finally regaining control, the migratory floodgates have most certainly finally opened! A few sightings of note from me over the past seven days included:
- 2 EVENING GROSBEAKS (FOY), Knight's Pond preserve, Cumberland/North Yarmouth, 5/7 (with Saturday Morning Birdwalk group).
- 2 LOUISIANA WATERTHRUSHES, Cumberland, 5/7 (with Saturday Morning Birdwalk group).
- 2 Blue-gray Gnatcatchers, Morgan Meadow WMA, Raymond, 5/9 (with Jeannette). 
- 1 PURPLE MARTIN (FOY and my 160th Patch Bird here!) and 14 species of warblers, led by 20+ Yellow-rumped and 8 each of Black-throated Green and Common Yellowthroat and FOY (1 each) of American Redstart, Nashville Warbler and Wilson's Warbler, Florida Lake Park, Freeport, 5/10 (with Anna Stunkel).
- 2 Northern Shovelers, off Gilsland Farm, Falmouth, 5/10 (with Anna Stunkel).
- 1 Blue-gray Gnatcatcher and 16 species warblers, led by 25+ Common Yellowthroats and 19 Yellow-rumped Warblers and my FOY Canada Warbler(1), Florida Lake Park, 5/12 (with Pat Moynahan).
- 1 Prairie Warbler, White Granite Park, North Jay, 5/13. "Good bird" this far northwest. (with Pat Moynahan).

And my numerous other personal first-of-years this week were as follows:

- 4 Common Yellowthroats, Morgan Meadow WMA, 5/9 (with Jeannette).
- 5 Least Flycatchers, Morgan Meadow WMA, 5/9 (with Jeannette).
- 3 Warbling Vireos, Morgan Meadow WMA, 5/9 (with Jeannette).
- 1 Baltimore Oriole, Morgan Meadow WMA, 5/9 (with Jeannette).
- 1 Northern Parula, Morgan Meadow WMA, 5/9 (with Jeannette).
- 1 YELLOW-THROATED VIREO, Morgan Meadow WMA, 5/9 (with Jeannette).
- 1 Chestnut-sided Warbler, Morgan Meadow WMA, 5/9 (with Jeannette).
- 1 Solitary Sandpiper, Bradbury Mountain Hawkwatch, 5/9.
- 4 Rose-breasted Grosbeaks, Florida Lake Park, 5/10 (with Anna Stunkel).
- 3+ Yellow Warblers, various locations along Falmouth shore, 5/10 (with Anna Stunkel).
- 2 Blackburnian Warblers, Bradbury Mountain Hawkwatch, 5/10.
- 5 Chimney Swifts, Bradbury Mountain Hawkwatch, 5/10.
- 1 Bank Swallow, Bradbury Mountain Hawkwatch, 5/10. 
- 1 Ruby-throated Hummingbird, our yard in Pownal, 5/11.
- 1 Wood Thrush, Hedgehog Mountain Park, Freeport, 5/11.
- 1 Scarlet Tanager, Hedgehog Mountain Park, Freeport, 5/11.
- 2 Veeries, Florida Lake Park, 5/12 (with Pat Moynahan).
- 1 Lincoln's Sparrow, Florida Lake Park, 5/12 (with Pat Moynahan).
- 2 White-crowned Sparrows, feeders here at the store, 5/12.
- 4+ Prairie Warblers, Rte 136 powerline cut, Durham, 5/13 (with Pat Moynahan).
- 7 Bobolinks, White Granite Park, 5/13 (with Pat Moynahan).
- 1 Indigo Bunting, White Granite Park, 5/13 (with Pat Moynahan).
- 1 Eastern Kingbird, Foothills Land Conservancy, Wilton, 5/13 (with Pat Moynahan).
- 1 Red-eyed Vireo, Mount Blue State Park, 5/13 (with Pat Moynahan).
