Visitors:
15 people visited the hawkwatch.

Weather:
A light layer of cirrus clouds gave way to heavier stratus, with haze along the horizon. Cloud cover became low and the summit was eventually fogged in for the afternoon, ending the count at 1:30 pm EST. Some drizzle also started in the afternoon. Winds were light and variable, often from the south.

Raptor Observations:
It was a slow day, with just a few migrants trickling through. It was interesting to see an immature Red-shouldered Hawk migrating this late in the season.

Non-raptor Observations:
Four Bobolinks (FOY) flew over the summit, and the first Northern Parula of the season was heard. The first Gray Treefrog of the year was trilling. 47 bird species were observed.
Species deemed migrating:
25 Tree Swallows
9 swallow sp.
6 Barn Swallows
5 Yellow-rumped Warblers
4 Bobolinks
4 Common Loons
3 American Goldfinches
2 Double-crested Cormorants
2 Solitary Sandpipers
2 warbler sp.
1 Eastern Bluebird
1 Eastern Kingbird

Predictions:
Tomorrow should be a beautiful day, with 10-15 mph winds starting out westerly. In the afternoon, winds should increase in speed and become southerly. Temperatures should be in the sixties and seventies with partly cloudy skies. Hopefully we will see some movement after this afternoon's fog and drizzle. We hope to see you at the summit on the last weekend of the hawkwatch!
