[Maine-birds] downeast

I had the pleasure of guiding an Acadia Birding Festival post-festival
trip today. We scoured the area from Columbia Falls to Pembroke. I'm sure
my guests were pleased with Bruce the Spruce Grouse in Lubec, and the
Nelson's Sparrows at South Lubec Sand Flats. But it was the oddballs that
elated me:

A Northern Cardinal singing behind Whiting General Store. Really? First
time there.
A Northern Mockingbird at the entrance of Pea Ridge Road in Columbia
Falls. Really?
A breeding plumage Red Knot in Addison Marsh, along with a Willet.
A breeding plumage Pectoral Sandpiper on the beach near the entrance to
the Cutler antenna field.
Lots of Black Scoters everywhere.
