Many thanks to all who have taken the time to report sightings of the Little Egret, both last year and this. Since the bird is obviously moving around the bay as the tide changes, I'd like to suggest that in addition to time of day, reports include some statement about the tide cycle. A common means of doing this is the following:
-- High |
Near High Rising |
Near High Falling |
Half Rising |
Half Falling |
Near Low Rising |
Near Low Falling |
Low |
With this information it would even be possible to chart how often the bird is at each site.
Thanks and good birding to all,
Thanks and good birding to all,
