They're always there. It's a great hot spot because they are so close.

Subject: [Maine-birds] Nelson's Sparrow- Machias 08 June
At about 5:00pm on the Downeast Sunrise Trail, between the little "bridge" (sign on trail) and the marker between Machias and East Machias town lines. This was the first time we have been on the trail this season so I don't know how long the bird has been here. Making its distinctive call from the top of a little hummock next to a tiny pool in the tidal marsh grass area, river side of trail. If I can download a photo with an X to mark the spot I will post again with a link to blog.My camera is not up to capturing the image of a small brown bird on a distant small brown hummock.
I am sure there are more in the tidal marsh but we didn't have the opportunity to look for them today. My favorite bird!
