[Maine-birds] Additional Highlights This Week, 7/30-8/5

Hi all,
Some other sightings of note over the past seven days, not previously reported here, included the following:
- 1 Yellow-billed Cuckoo, our yard in Pownal, 7/31 through week's end.
- 12 species of shorebirds, led by 400+ Semipalmated Sandpipers and including the previously-mentioned adult BAIRD'S SANDPIPER, Popham Beach State Park, Phippsburg, 8/1 (with Jeannette).
- 1 immature male Black Scoter, Popham Beach SP, 8/1 (with Jeannette).
- 1 juv. YELLOW-CROWNED NIGHT-HERONS continuing, Great Pond, Biddeford, 8/2 (with Jeannette).
- 2 MANX SHEARWATERS, 7 Cory's Shearwaters, 2 Wilson's Storm-Petrels, 46 Northern Gannets, etc, sunset seawatching from East Point, Biddeford Pool, 7:00pm-8:05pm, 8/2 (with Jeannette).
- only 8 species of shorebirds, led by 149 Semipalmated Sandpipers and 106 Semipalmated Plovers and including 3 Whimbrels, Pine Point, Scarborough, 8/5 (where numbers and diversity continue to be low this season).
