[Maine-birds] Gull Identity

Hi all,

           On Sunday afternoon I saw an adult Herring Gull whose breast and underwings had been dyed red.  This was at Drift Inn Beach in St George.  Can anyone give me a clue as to what study this part of?  Thanks.
