Hi everyone:
Following last night's heavy rain I ventured out to the Wainright Fields in South Portland (off Highland Ave) hoping the puddles would attract any shorebirds passing over. There was virtually no water left in the fields but one juvenile BUFF-BREASTED SANDPIPER was very cooperative in soccer fields behind baseball field 2. There were also a few interesting warblers foraging around the pond near the parking lot, including Cape May and Tennessee.
A few photos are available here: http://ebird.org/ebird/view/checklist/S38993605
Good birding,
