Visitors:
17 inquisitive folks today
Weather:
The wind was howling today, at times sounding like an approaching train. A few gusts had me side stepping. Thankfully the sun was providing some direct warmth amid a smattering of clouds. Visibility was good with some heat distortion to contend with.
Raptor Observations:
Not much taking place out there today. High winds were a little to much for the raptors. Eagles were having a hard time staying on there flight paths. Turkey Vultures appeared to be getting wrapped up in their own wings. In the final hour one Sharpy had enough and decided to head north albeit very slowly.
Non-raptor Observations:
It was a pretty quiet day with the exception of the wind. Not many species were identified by sound today. I did catch two Killdeer flying by early in the count, along with four birds which appeared the most stable of all the fliers today, which were Sandhill Cranes.
Predictions:
Tomorrow's forecast is looking like a carbon copy of today. There may be fewer clouds but the winds and gusts should persist during the day. Temps may be a few degrees cooler.
