Visitors:
15 visitors to the sight today.

Weather:
Today started out in a similar fashion to yesterday. Coastal fog had moved inland and reduced our view to a couple of miles. By mid morning the fog had receded a bit making for a fair view of our surrounding area, with Portland just visible, 18 miles to our south. There was a light breeze throughout the day which made the mild temperatures in the mid forties seem slightly cooler. Clouds overhead did part for a period during midday allowing in some sunshine. Later in the day the fog began to encroach again. With rain on the way, the final hour was cloudy and cool.

Raptor Observations:
Another good day early in the count season. We had some fantastic looks at many different species. Eagles really stole the show today, performing for enthusiastic young birders and interested onlookers directly over the summit. Our first Merlin and Kestrel were a welcome sight along with a mature male Harrier.

Non-raptor Observations:
It was a much slower day for passerines. Blackbirds came through by the handful, mostly Grackles and very few Red-winged Blackbirds. One Killdeer was performing ventriloquism, making it seem as thought it was coming from the Red-shoulder we were all looking at. 26 species were seen or heard today.

Predictions:
Morning clouds should be moving out, for the most part, by midday. Wind appears be light from the west, shifting northwest by afternoon. Northwest winds have produced decent flights historically from this sight. With some sun and highs hitting the mid 50's, plus a storm front approaching for the weekend possible encouraging birds to move ahead of it, tomorrow is looking promising.
