Fort Williams Park in Cape Elizabeth is a reliable spot to see them year-round. In breeding season the oak trees blanketing the ridge (where the open-air building containing picnic tables is located) and nest boxes is a great habitat for them, and they are plentiful and easy to find. During the most inhospitable parts of the winter, even with the wind whipping off the ocean, small flocks can usually be found there and at other spots in the park.

I'm seeing some posts about FOY Bluebirds, but here in southern Maine we're fortunate to have some around throughout the year. I've put together a bit of a love note to Bluebirds that includes some thoughts about changing migration patterns. Some on the list may enjoy reading it:--===============================================================Paul F. Wells
