Re: [Maine-birds] Thick-billed Murre

Last winter, or maybe the winter before (I'd have to check my notes) there was a Thick-billed Murre inside the breakwater in Rockland.  Some were calling it a Common Murre, but I studied it carefully and it did not have the field marks of a Common.  Maybe these birds need a break from rough water occasionally?

Others now suggest it is a common murre with a deformed bill. Uh, OK.
