Visitors:
12 visitors to the site today including an expert on the surrounding terrain who was very enthusiastic to share his geographical gems.

Weather:
Another windy day at the mountain. The Pines behind us help to shelter us from the direct impact of the gusts blowing out of the northwest. There were some periods of calm which allowed you to feel the full strength of the sun shining in bright blue sky. Temps climbed up into the low 50's by mid afternoon. Visibility was decent but with predictable heat shimmer.

Raptor Observations:
High winds most likely kept our numbers low today. Birds weren't climbing into the higher altitudes riding thermals today, with the exception of a couple Eagles. Birds remained low and a few took a similar path, low over treetops following the Little Bradbury ridgeline. The morning was the most productive period despite a little less wind in the afternoon. No birds were counted during the final half of the day. The skies really dried up.

Non-raptor Observations:
Low numbers of Passerines flying by. Levi and Katrina confirmed the first Horned Larks of the season, during the first hour of the day. 23 species were seen or heard from the summit. Other birds deemed migrating include: 12 Tree Swallows 9 Canada Geese 6 Common Mergansers 5 Horned Larks 3 American Goldfinch 2 Killdeer 2 Purple Finches

Predictions:
A little bit of a mixed bag tomorrow with some clouds and sun. It should be another pleasant day with temps climbing back into the 50's. Winds hopefully remain light, starting the day blowing in from the southwest and swinging slightly more southerly by the afternoon. Will tomorrow be the first triple digit day?
