Bradbury Mountain State Park
Pownal, Maine, USA
Visitors:
Just hikers passing behind me.
Weather:
Rain and fog kept us away for the majority of the day. By mid afternoon the rain let up and visibility was beginning to improve. I decided to head up for the last 90 minutes thinking I was probably a little late to the show. However, the fog hadn't lifted as much as I thought. To the E and W visibility was pretty limited. To the S and SE I could see pretty far. At least 18 miles given the clear shot at Halfway Rock Lighthouse. The fog was hanging at about head height so the view upward was nil. Temps were mild and wind nonexistent.
Raptor Observations:
The Peregrine was worth it.
Non-raptor Observations:
3 Northbound Great Blue Herons 9 species seen or heard
Predictions:
Tomorrow could be another frustratingly windy day with strong gusts from the NW. Sun should be shining and temps in the 40 degree range. The last windy day didn't produce much but I think I we'll do better this time.
