Bradbury Mountain State Park

Visitors:
4 people visited the Hawkwatch today.
Weather:
It was a partly cloudy day with light variable winds and temperatures building to around 60F. The sea breeze that was being reported out of Portland never really materialized on the mountain.
Raptor Observations:
It was a pretty slow day for migrants. Almost half of today's birds were counted in the first 2 hours. But, a nice flyby of a Merlin in late day light was a good way to close the day. One Red-tailed pair, a couple of Bald Eagle pairs, and single Red-shouldered Hawk were active off and on.
Non-raptor Observations:
38 species were observed from the summit today. Migrants were few, but 2 Red Crossbills passed by behind the mountain. Other birds deemed migrating included: 9 Barn Swallows 7 Double-crested Cormorants 6 American Goldfinch 3 Tree Swallows 1 Chimney Swift 1 Purple Finch 1 Eastern Bluebird
Predictions:
It looks like it will be a pleasant day up on the Brad tomorrow with sunshine and temperatures approaching 70F. Winds will be NW, but hopefully light enough that it may be a decent day.
