Re: [Maine-birds] STELLER’S SEA-EAGLE...?

Anything is possible but "The" Sea Eagle is being seen regularly in Newfoundland and slipping northward. I haven't checked for E-Bird reports but I've seen photographs taken, as recently as Thursday, in Newfoundland.
A second Steller's on the East Coast or a warp-speed trip from NFLD are both long shots, in my opinion.
I'm betting that his sighting was an immature Bald Eagle.
All that said, it would add quite a wrinkle to the saga if he was right.

Regards,
Ralph.

I don't want to be that person to raise a false alarm..but a friend was sitting on his porch
in West Boothbay Harbor  - swears it was the STSE startling him at eye level with the Giant Beak. I questioned TV and he said NO. It was headed to West Harbor Pond. I am not on FB but wanted to share the possibility.
