Visitors:
While making a quick scan from the top, I overheard some unofficial hawkcount visitors express some incredulity over our Sandhill Crane sightings which they were reading about on the kiosk. I let them squabble amongst themselves, I'm on break.
Weather:
It's the third day in a row we've been closed out on account of the weather. There were a number of times when the skies brightened and I thought I might make it up but was quickly thwarted by more light rain and persistent drizzle. The radar looked like the aftermath of a productive sneeze, and continued to fill in from the NE. I did go to the summit today but it was mostly to complete my own data set of Summit Trail ascent times and assess ease of access. The climb is a little slow and the trail is very wet with about 3"-4" of slush, and quite slick.

Predictions:
There is a high degree of confidence I will be on the mountain for a full day tomorrow. Will we be seeing any birds? I think so but maybe not as many as we hope, just yet. Winds are supposed to be pretty strong, from the NNE which might deter a few birds. Temps will start out kind of chilly but should climb into the 40's. Skies will likely be fairly cloudy.
