[Maine-birds] RFI - Song Sparrow disease??

Hi all - Got this query from a birding friend in Hancock County and hope to tap into the listserv's collective wisdom. Thanks in advance.

I just saw a song sparrow around our feeders with a whitish, yellow efflorescence around one of its eyes. I tried to take a pic but it wasn't cooperating. Should I be worried?
