Two WESTERN SANDPIPERS were spotted on the Biddeford Pool Beach on the 10th.
A CONNECTICUT WARBLER was seen at the gravel pit off Proctor Road in Biddeford on the morning of the 16th.
There was a CLAY-COLORED SPARROW visiting feeders along Hills Beach in Biddeford on the 16th.
Greater Portland
The Scarborough Marsh continues to host a number of notable shorebirds including: eight STILT SANDPIPERS, one LONG-BILLED DOWITCHER and a HUDSONIAN GODWIT.
Impressive morning flights continue from Sandy Point on Cousin's Island; another CONNECTICUT WARBLER was reported on the 11th plus a BLUE-GRAY GNATCATCHER, DICKCISSEL, and SUMMER TANAGER were present on the 16th. A birch and Red Oak have been replanted at the end of the point; bringing water to help keep the 'water bags' at the base of each tree full in appreciated.
On the 16th, a BLUE-WINGED WARBLER was reported from Old Town House Park in North Yarmouth.
Midcoast
On the 10th a LARK SPARROW was seen at Popham Beach State Park just north of the south restrooms. A BAIRD'S SANDPIPER and three FORSTER'S TERNS were reported from Popham on the 11th, while a BUFF-BREASTED SANDPIPER and 10 AMERICAN GOLDEN-PLOVERS were present on the 13th.
Reports from Monhegan Island this week have included: one BAIRD'S SANDPIPER, at least two WHITE-EYED VIREOS, a single LARK SPARROW, CLAY-COLORED SPARROW, DICKCISSEL and an adult LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL.
Penobscot Bay
Weskeag Marsh in South Thomaston was highlighted this week by pairs of STILT SANDPIPERS and PECTORAL SANDPIPERS plus a single WILSON'S PHALAROPE that was present from the 11th to the 14th. A DICKCISSEL was also present on the 13th.
Downeast
A very early SNOW BUNTING was reported flying over the top of Cadillac Mountain on the 14th.
Western Mountains
The sod farms at the intersection of Old River and Harbor Roads in Fryeburg continue to host interesting shorebirds this week, including: 14 AMERICAN GOLDEN-PLOVERS and two BUFF-BREASTED SANDPIPERS. The SANDHILL CRANE is still being seen in this area, as recently as the 14th.
