FOY osprey in Totman Cove yesterday, big fat male
questions about teal
I did a lot of study about the teals I posted on 03/26. Thanks to all of you who provided information to that end. The following eBird report has a few links to images of said ducks on my web site (GET IT???). But, seriously, I think one is a Eurasian x Common intergrade. I say this because of the five birds, one had a distinct horizontal scapular bar from all angles viewed. It did have a vertical bar but it was much fainter and thinner than the other birds. The feathers on the back were more contrasted in all light and angles. I could not see any differences in the breast or belly feathers. The birds did walk around on the grass so I could see that.
Any thoughts on this are appreciated. RRR

> Green-winged Teal 5 of flock of five, one is possibly a Eurasian x Common Greenwinged teal intergrade. note that of these birds, one has a horizontal scapular bar, the others do not. That same bird has a vertical shoulder bar but it is much fainter than that of the other birds. It did appear that there were more contrasted feathers on the back.
