OK, you will have to do some bushwhacking and abandon the trails like we did, but we had great and close looks at a startled AMBI at Florida Lake on Sunday, among the flooded boggy woods near the east shore of the lake. Can you believe - no palms! But bittern was a welcome consolation prize.
