[Maine-birds] Great Cormorants, Lesser Scaup Androscoggin County

Hello All,

Spent the morning birding Androscoggin County.  Variety of diving ducks showing up here and there--Bufflehead. Common Goldeneye, Ring-necked Duck, Hooded and Common Merganswers.  Sabattus Pond is ice-free.  3 Lesser Scaup were the highlight there.

Two immature Great Cormorants were perched in the morning on a wire over the Androscoggin River rapids in Auburn near the former Delekto Brothers and in the evening two were circling in preparation to land in the same place while a quarter mile upriver a young Great and an adult Double-crested Cormorant were perched side by side on a snag in the river.

Surprising cormorant show on the river in the last two weeks.
