Dove in the driveway and saw a Cooper’s Hawk skulking around the Box wood. ? trying to hide from the welter of birds he’d just spooked from the feeder areas. He poked around for quite a while, peeked under the Box, flew over to the end of the yard, and stayed a few minutes on a crabapple, then flew off. Abundant birds: Tree, Wh Thr, and Song sparrows, Red and white B’d nuthatches, Downy, hairy, and RB woodpeckers. A bluebird looking at nest boxes two days ago hasn’t come out for the mealworms I got for him, but the tree swallows like them a lot . there were 21 species today(the third this week with 20 or more), including a dc cormorant (but no mallards while I was watching!). Others were Blue Jay, Crow, Canada Goose, titmouse, chickadee, Junco, cardinal, goldfinch, House finch, robin, herring gull. Buffleheads and RB mergansers were here two days earlier in the week
