Hi all,
A few weeks ago now, I posed a question regarding the strong feelings elicited by the use (or, apparently, not) of four-letter "alpha" codes on the listserv (and beyond). Thanks to the volume of responses - many of which were very thoughtful - the project snowballed a bit into a much longer article. That article is now posted today on the ABA Blog - the web log of the American Birding Association.

Personally, I think the best place for continued discussion about this topic is in the comment field of the ABA Blog - I think more than enough has been said on this listserv about the topic. Therefore, I hope you will join the discussion there, as I found the topic rather interesting to explore, and hopefully you will too.
