[Maine-birds] Goldfinch invasion

Just looked out to see 30+ Am Goldfinches in my neighbor’s birch trees and watched as they descended onto my feeders - looked hard and long to find a Pine Siskin in the bunch, but no luck.

I did catch a look at our male Red-bellied WP as he made his quick trip to the seed feeder.  Not sure how many times he hits the feeder a day, but he stays less than a minute when he does, so catching him is hit or miss - mostly miss if he comes very often!

All the other usual visitors have been here off and on during the morning.  Of some interest, I have had 2 White-throated sparrows and  several tree sparrows visiting off and on for a week now.

Good luck to all of you who will be in the field for a CBC tomorrow.
