Hi everyone,
-- The highlight of a cloudy midday walk at Saxl Park was running into a group of 8 Red Crossbills. I had point blank, prolonged views as they fed in the Norway Spruces that are in the parking lot of the (apparently) unused building on the eastern edge of the park. This is the building south of the Maine IF&W office. After watching them for 15 or 20 minutes, they took off east across State Hospital Dr. and landed in some spruces near the road. It seemed like they would stick around.

Good birding!
