[Maine-birds] Kittery through Wells (SNOW, COGR, Borealis COEI, shorebirds, HADU, etc), 2/1

Hi all,

Jeannette and I enjoyed very productive birding on this ridiculously warm day, combing the coast from Kittery through Wells in our monthly circuit.

Highlights were a'plenty, including a few unseasonable observations:
- 1 Carolina Wren, Fort Foster (should be an easier season for what's left of these guys as compared to the last two winters!).
- 6 Dunlin with 70 Sanderlings and 5 Purple Sandpipers and 9 Harlequin Ducks, The Nubble, York.
- 10 Harlequin Ducks, Short Sands Beach, York.
- 40 Sanderlings and 27 Purple Sandpipers, Marginal Way, Ogunquit.
- 1 hen COMMON EDIER, ssp. "BOREALIS," 36 Harlequin Ducks, 400+ Black Scoters, etc, Marginal Way.
- 1 male COMMON GRACKLE, Dike St, Wells (late, early, or somewhere in between?).
- 1 imm Northern Harrier, Moody Marsh.
- 1 SNOWY OWL, 1 imm Peregrine Falcon, and 1 imm Northern Harrier, Webhannet Marsh, Wells.
- 4 Yellow-rumped Warblers, Community Park, Wells.

Not bad for Feb 1st!

-Derek
