Visitors:
68 people visited the hawkwatch.

Weather:
It was a blustery day, with moderate to strong winds mainly from the north. Skies started out overcast and remained mostly cloudy before clearing quite a bit in the late afternoon. Winds died down during the last few hours of the count, but there was still some gusting.

Raptor Observations:
Migration slowed considerably compared to the last couple of days. The moderate to strong north winds kept most migrants flying low, although a few Osprey were flying high overhead. A Broad-winged Hawk was seen displaying repeatedly near the Freeport water tower. One local Osprey was packing lunch (a quite large fish) and headed southwards. Four local adult Bald Eagles were soaring over Portland this afternoon.

Non-raptor Observations:
Pine Warblers and Yellow-rumped Warblers were flycatching repeatedly at the summit. Their brilliant colors brightened the day and brought smiles to visitors' faces.

37 bird species were observed.
Species deemed migrating:
61 Double-crested Cormorants
38 Tree Swallows
2 Common Loons
1 Brown-headed Cowbird
1 Northern Flicker
1 Pine Siskin
1 Yellow-rumped Warbler

Predictions:
Skies should be mostly clear tomorrow, with moderate north northwest winds and temperatures in the mid fifties. Windspeed will probably be greatest during early afternoon, diminishing later in the day. Although these conditions are not ideal, there should be a decent flight and maybe a little push of movement as wind speed dies down.
