[Maine-birds] more signs of spring in Hallowell

On Thursday 4/21 at "the Res" there were two brown-headed cowbirds near the gate, a few palm warblers and white-throated sparrows in full color along the entry road, a hermit thrush moving through the underbrush, multiple ruby-crowned kinglets in the conifers along the far side of the pond, pine warblers calling from the mature pines, an osprey circling overhead, a lone male mallard in the pond, phoebes in the woods to the right of the entry road, and blue jays, robins, red-wing blackbirds, crows, goldfinches, chickadees, mourning doves roundabout.
Today, Friday 4/22 as Mike walked along Central and Outer Central Street he saw a lone field sparrow singing...so they may show up on their breeding grounds near the airport soon.
