[Maine-birds] Juvenile Barred Owls

I have two very forlorn and forsaken juvenile barred owls calling from the trees around my house. I had close looks at one yesterday evening – flying in a floppy awkward way but downy on the head. It certainly seems their parents have made the decision that these two are able to fend for themselves, but the kids don’t agree. They kept me awake last night with their pathetic beseeching calls, and they are at it again this evening. One is clearly visible in a very exposed limb – oh how I hope the Great Horneds are out of town! Sweet, pathetic Millennials!
