Hi all,
I spent some time this morning and again in the afternoon at Wharton Point in Brunswick, observing a LONG-BILLED DOWITCHER who was found by Gordon Smith on Wednesday afternoon. I've posted photos and notes to eBird.am (falling tide): http://ebird.org/ebird/view/
pm (rising tide): http://ebird.org/ebird/view/
If you try for this bird, I recommend a spotting scope. Much of the time the shorebirds were quite distant. The best shot for a closer look seems to be when the flats are just opening (~2 hours after high tide), and again when the flats are shrinking (~3 hours before high tide).
