[Maine-birds] Fieldfare 4/20 afternoon - no

Hi,

Was back in the area from 2-5 this afternoon. No love. There was a Merlin and two Coops keeping the birds stirred up while I was around. Most of the robins I saw throughout the afternoon were gathering nesting material. Only got groups of note quite late.

3 incidents of note:

3:30ish - had a single large thrush leave the treeline of the pond across from the Sheepscot road Hill church, heading towards Kings Hwy blackbird aggregation. Underwing was pale, but not gleaming. Not enough experience with Fieldfare to make a call.

4:17 - Partial albino Robin got my heart going in a swampy low at the North end of a large field on the West side of N.Newcastle Road.

4:46 - Pale female American Robin with unusually bold eyebrow got my heart going as Robins returned to the swampy low in the field along Old County Rd between Kings Hwy and Sheepscot.

So, lots of variation in the Robins in Newcastle. Vesper Sparrow still present in the playground field.

Oh, and a pair of Barrow's Goldeneye when I got home to Belgrade.

Cheers,

Sea
