[Maine-birds] This Week's Highlights and New Arrivals, 4/15-21

Hi all,
My observations of note over the past seven, unreasonably busy (for non-birding-despite-a-plethora-of-rarities things) days included:
- 1 Northern Goshawk, our yard in Pownal, 4/16.
- 2 Evening Grosbeaks, our yard in Pownal, 4/17.
- 3 Northern Shovelers, Wharton Point, Brunswick, 4/17.
- 1 Northern Shoveler and 2 Blue-winged Teal, Wharton Point, 4/19.
- 2 Ruddy Ducks, Eastern Promenade, Portland, 4/20 (with Rich MacDonald).

And my personal FOY's this week were:
3 Blue-winged Teal, Florida Lake Park, Freeport, 4/15 (with Saturday Morning Birdwalk group).
1 Northern Rough-winged Swallow, Florida Lake Park, 4/16.
6 Ruddy Ducks, Sabattus Pond, Sabattus, 4/20
1 Louisiana Waterthrush, Papermill Trail, Lisbon, 4/20
1 Black-crowned Night-Heron, Legion Pond, Kittery, 4/21.

Thanks to everyone who came out to Blue last night for the release of Birdwatching in Maine! It was great to see you all, friends both new and old. I'll be speaking at the Essex-Peabody Museum (MA) for the Essex Ornithological Club tonight, but next weekend, I'll be presenting at the Freeport Community Library on Saturday evening at 7:00pm as part of the Feathers Over Freeport: A Birdwatching Weekend events:
