[Maine-birds] This Week's Highlights, 7/1-7

Hi all,

My observations of note over the past seven days included:
- 2 continuing CLAY-COLORED SPARROWS and 2 UPLAND SANDPIPERS, Bowdoin Sand Plain, Brunswick, 7/1 (with Saturday Morning Birdwalk Group).
- 1 Merlin, Federal Street, Brunswick, 7/1 (with Saturday Morning Birdwalk group).
- 1 male ORCHARD ORIOLE with one fledgling, Capisic Pond Park, Portland, 7/2 (with client from New Mexico).
- 5+ Bicknell's Thrushes, Sugarloaf Mountain, 7/3 (with Jeannette).
- 3 Bicknell's Thrushes despite very strong winds, Burnt Mountain, Carrabassett, 7/4 (with Jeannette).
- 1 Red Crossbill and 1 Sora, Carrabassett Valley Snowfluent Ponds, 7/5 (with Jeannette).
- 1 American Bittern, Gilman Pond Road, New Portland, 7/5 (with Jeannette).
- Migrant (it's fall!) shorebird totals from Scarborough Marsh on 7/7 (with clients from California): 26 Least Sandpipers, 20 Lesser Yellowlegs, 18 Short-billed Dowitchers (FOF), 15 Greater Yellowlegs, and 10 Semipalmated Sandpipers.
- 1 pair Blue-winged Teal, Eastern Road Trail, Scarborough Marsh, 7/7 (with clients from California).
