Re: [Maine-birds] Little Egret, Martin's Point, Portland, 7/14.

After watching the bird for about 20 minutes from the location noted by Derek, I just watched it fly off past Mackworth Is. towards Peaks Is.

Hi all,

The LITTLE EGRET (or presumed Little Egret; the amount of yellow in the lores does seem to fall well within the range of variation of this species, but more later) is currently present off of Oregon St in Portland, easily viewed from the Rte 1 bridge to/from Martin's Point. There's a public parking lot just before you cross the bridge (on the right if heading towards Falmouth), with a fisherman's trail that goes under the bridge (although my best views were from atop the bridge itself which has a nice wide sidewalk

I'll post photos later.
