[Maine-birds] Fwd: [NHBirds] NH Rare Bird Committee Votes to Add Common Shelduck (and 4 Others) to NH Statelist

Cross-posting this to the Maine listserve, especially for those who made the trip to the NH coast last year to see the Common Shelduck.  The Shelduck was accepted by the NH Rare Bird Committee, adding the species to the NH statelist.  So if you saw the bird and follow the ABA listing rules - you can add it to your life list and NH state list.

Subject: [NHBirds] NH Rare Bird Committee Votes to Add Common Shelduck (and 4 Others) to NH Statelist

Yesterday the NH Rare Bird Committee (NHRBC) voted on records of review species covering the four 2017 seasons - Spring 2017, Summer 2017, Fall 2017, and Winter 2017/2018.  Highlights were the addition of 5 species to the NH statelist -

   Common Shelduck - 8/13 - 9/11/17, Rye

Yellow-nosed Albatross - 7/4/17, Seavey and Star Islands (previously on the NH hypothetical list)

Brown Booby -   6/10-20/17, Cobbetts Pond, Windham

   Western Wood-Pewee -10/1/17, Star Island

MacGillivray's Warbler - 9/4-11/17, Odiorne Point State Park (previously on the NH hypothetical list)

That brings the NH statelist to 418 after the addition of an amazing 10 species over just the last 2 years.

The complete report of the NHRBC's 2017 votes will be published in a future edition of New Hampshire Bird Records.
