| Linda's directions to yesterday's pelican were excellent. When I arrived at noon today, Bruce had the bird in the scope, viewing from the Camp Benson Rd. We then followed the ATV trail to get a closer look. After several minutes, the bird took flight and appeared to be headed elsewhere. It continued to circle, gaining altitude, then slowly descended, coming nearer to us, and headed towards the northwest corner of the lake. I believe the bird landed out of our sight line, and did not leave the area while I was still there. If looking tomorrow, I'd check all along Camp Benson Rd. and County Rd. on the north side of the lake. Walking the ATV trail might afford better views of areas not viewable from the road. My list from today: Jerry Smith in Orrington
